*Stafford loan eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens or legal permanent residents; admitted to full NBTS degree programs (not special, non-degree, or limited enrollment students); registered for at least six credits per semester.
**Scholarship eligibility: Most awards are based on demonstrated financial need.
Recommendations Instructions
NBTS will send recommendation forms to all recommenders. Recommenders should be someone who expresses support for your participation in chosen program.NBTS will send the forms to the Recommenders that you list below. APPLICANT’S WAIVER OF RIGHT OF ACCESS TO CONFIDENTIAL STATEMENT Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, a student enrolled in New Brunswick Theological Seminary has access to his or her educational records. We comply with this law, while still allowing the student the option of waiving right of access. If you wish to waive the right to examine this recommendation, please select “I waive…” below. If you mark “I do not waive my right..”, you will have access to this document upon enrollment at NBTS. Your choice in no way impacts our consideration of your application. Your signature at the bottom of this application stands as your legal affirmation to your choice here. All applicants are required to have recommendations from a prior academic instructor, work supervisor, colleague, and/or pastor expressing support for your participation in chosen program who knows your work well.
Prior Degree Instructions
For Masters Programs:
Please list in descending order the education institutions that you have attended. If you have more than four schools, please list the most recent four and degrees earned. A Bachelor's degree is required.
Transcript Instructions
(a) If your earned bachelor’s degree includes transfer credits from another institution, you must submit an official transcript from each institution.
(b) If you are currently finishing your undergraduate degree, have your latest transcript sent, and have a second transcript sent that confirms the date once the degree is conferred.
(c) If you have a professional or other graduate degree(s), please provide a transcript(s) if you wish the credits to be considered for transfer to NBTS.
(d) Non-traditional applicants: You must complete all four required courses and submit an official transcript when you apply OR a completed NBTS certificate in theological studies or church leadership.
All official transcripts should be sent directly to the Office of Admissions at NBTS from the registrar of the institution.
For Doctoral Programs:
You must submit an official transcript of your Master of Divinity or equivalent degree, with a 3.0 grade point average, and all previous undergraduate and graduate programs you attended.
lf your earned degree(s) include(s) transfer credits from another institution, you must submit an official transcript from each institution.
Pastoral Care and Counseling applicants: please provide evidence of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
